Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

Brushpool ("we", "us") is a drawing social network. This policy explains what information we collect when you use the app, why we collect it, and how it is handled.

2. Information we collect

When you create an account and use Brushpool, we collect:

• Your email address and password (used only for sign-in; your password is never visible to us — it is handled by Firebase Authentication).
• Your chosen username, avatar, and optional bio.
• The drawings you publish, and which pools/themes you publish them to.
• Likes, reactions, and follows you make, and drawings you save as drafts on your own device.
• Your language preference.
• Basic technical information collected automatically by our infrastructure provider (Google Firebase) to keep the service secure and working, such as IP address and device/browser type. We do not use this information for advertising.
• Anonymous usage statistics collected by our hosting provider (Vercel Web Analytics): which pages are visited, the country, and the kind of device. These statistics use no cookies, contain no information that identifies you, and are never used to track you across other websites.

3. How we use your information

We use your information only to:

• Operate the core features of the app (feed, pools, likes, reactions, follows, achievements, brushpoints).
• Moderate content before it is published, to keep the community safe.
• Communicate with you about your account (e.g. password reset, email verification).
• Detect and prevent abuse, spam, and automated (bot) sign-ups.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing purposes.

4. Where your data is stored

Brushpool is built on Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore Database, and Cloud Storage). Your data is stored and processed on Google's infrastructure under Google's own security and data-processing terms. We do not run our own servers.

5. Local storage on your device

To keep the app fast and light on data usage, Brushpool stores a copy of recently viewed feeds, profiles, and preferences directly in your browser (localStorage). This data stays on your device, is used only to make the app feel faster, and is cleared automatically when you log out.

6. Public content

Your username, avatar, bio, published drawings, brushpoints, achievements, and who you follow/who follows you are public and visible to anyone using the app, signed in or not — similar to a public social media profile.

7. Your rights

You can review and update your username, avatar, bio, and language at any time from Settings. You can request a copy of your data, or ask us to delete your account and associated data, by contacting us (see below) — we will act on deletion requests within a reasonable time, except where we are required to keep certain information for legal reasons.

8. Children

Brushpool is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under that age.

9. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page.
